Heated Conveyor System

A perhaps inelegant way of describing what Techshot does is that it designs things and the things that make things, i.e., it not only develops new products, but also manufacturing equipment.

Recently, contract manufacturer Precision Solutions, LLC, hired Techshot to develop the equipment it needed to speed production of parts for a Fortune 10 customer.

"Techshot took the worry out of getting this important production line set up," said Precision Solutions Program Development Manager Robert Linville. "This first-of-its-kind system will improve our efficiency and help us keep our customer happy -- and that makes me very happy."

Techshot first developed a fixture that would hold an extruded plastic part while it is being filled with foam. The fixture needs to hold the part firmly and evenly to prevent bulging as the foam expands.

The entire fixture is then loaded into a Techshot-developed special machine -- a heated conveyor system where it spends up to 30 minutes as the injected foam cures. The unit holds more than 30 of the fixtures at a time.

"This equipment is an important addition to our plant," said Linville. "It's helping us compete effectively with off-shore suppliers and win new business."

The easy-to-use system meets all OSHA requirements for worker safety.
