SBIR Assistance Program
The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs are the largest source of early-stage financing for technology start-ups in the nation, with about $2 billion in grants and contracts awarded each year.
Techshot, Indiana’s most prolific winner of federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contracts, is now using its well-earned expertise to help other companies win more such agreements with the government.
Techshot has earned 50 SBIR Phase I, II & III contracts with NASA, the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation. Through the SBIR and STTR programs, the company has attracted nearly $40 million in federal research funding since 1990.
Some consultants make a living talking about what it takes to win SBIR
contracts, but they may never have actually won any themselves. Techshot's
SBIR assistance personnel are the same ones responsible for the company's
own success with the program. The company’s proposal writers have
won 32 Phase I, 17 Phase II and two Phase III contracts.
Techshot's SBIR assistance program was established to help new and existing small businesses develop concepts and to prepare high-quality, competitive Phase I & II proposals. Under this program, Techshot provides services such as, individual counseling sessions, proposal assistance, proposal development, proposal reviews, and commercialization plan development.
